Thank you for this honor! The Realtor that I was working with wrote up the story / scenario and I choreographed it based on her vision. She had a large storyboard she actually drew out that had her general idea laid out. The actors were her friends and the kids were hers and her friends.
It was actually a lot more smooth of a process than I would have expected as it was my first time doing it. Every piece of motion from the actors was incredibly intentional as I wanted to show how the house was connected.
Some of the smaller details (the baseball, for example) were determined on the fly. I needed a way to transition and make it seem like it was the Dad, and I just happened to have one in my car that day.
I shot this in S-Log 3 using a Sony A7SII and Ninja Flame on a Ronin M. In terms of color, I admittedly was trying to experiment with that faded color look because I thought it would help trigger some nostalgia - and I really shouldn't be experimenting with color as I am no good with it. I would color it completely different now. This house was very dark and was hard to get good exposures - I still haven't quite figured out how to deal with that issue yet.

It's this type of video that really gets me excited and motivated. Creativity can sometimes stall with complacency. Thanks for putting the realtors visions to fruition. It's inspirational.
A great video, except for the omission of info critical for buyers - the bedroom and bath count. You have to struggle to glean that info from the video. And no contact info for an interested buyer?
Is there a reason why it isn't on YouTube, where it would reach a much larger audience?

Only the image quality is lacking. The A7SII is capable of shooting noise free with vibrant colors just not in LOG. I can tell that you have shot it in Log format, reminds me my first year with the A7S...i could just not love that camera until I finally said goodbye to picture profiles. The camera and the colors just jumped to life. To make a log footage look good, you need very specific shooting style and very serious color grading. Definitely not something you want to do. Do yourself the favor and turn off PP and just shoot without it...you will fall in love with the A7Sii as I did. 🙂 (Check out Brandon Li's work on vimeo, he shoots with PP off and his colors are just mesmerizing...and so can be yours. 🙂
Thanks for the comments, everyone! Joe - I am a marketing / advertising guy. I try to create things that get people's attention, and post them where their attention is. The point of this video was not to sell them the house, it is to sell them the lifestyle.
I can guarantee you that the buyers were not caught up in the details. I create video content for Facebook advertising - not YouTube. Not sure about where you are from, but where I am, there is no traffic for YouTube when it comes to Real Estate. I have a YouTube channel and it gets no views. I also put no effort into it. Facebook is a much more effective tool.
Loved it - wish all realtors would pay for this kind of Video. Jordan did your client pay decently for this video - I'm sure it was lots of work - or did you do it as a mutual marketing product?

Thanks so much! Yes, she definitely paid more for this. It was a fairly easy process for me because she came up with the storyline - I just choreographed it.
