Congratulations Dave Spencer - September PFRE Photographer of the Month

Published: 25/09/2017
By: larry

Congratulations to Dave Spencer of Gig Harbor, Washington who the jury has voted PFRE Photographer of the Month for September. This is Dave's first win!

Here are the entries that the jurors awarded points to this month:

  1. Dave Spencer - #2
  2. Ryan Fletcher - #11
  3. Trace Tague - #10
  4. Matt Rosendahl - #14
  5. Gary Kasl - #5
  6. Franz Rabe - #17
  7. Matthew - #8
  8. Karen Amendola #20
  9. Marcie - #16
  10. Claudio Mollo - #9
  11. Michael Williams - #1

Here are Dave's words about his winning photo:

From the southern tip of Fox Island, over Puget Sound and Chambers Bay Golf to Mt Rainier - a pretty magical spot. I set up my primary gear for a front twilight then saw the mountain shot as we rushed around turning on lights. With only moments of sun left on the mountain, I grabbed 2 glasses and dug an empty bottle out of the trash. Shot handheld from mid-livingroom through a sliding door, so I had to 'help' the focus with some excessive contrast in post. The judges' suggestions are totally on the money.

  1. Yes, that eternal rushing around trying to capture the brief moments of magical light..!
Well spotted & acted on, Dave - a magical moment & photo indeed.

  2. Its very pretty, but also looks highly processed....isnt that sort of opposite of what this forum espouses? Not trying to be rude....just curious

  3. @sharon - I have confidence in the judgment of our 10 jurors - they are all some of the best in the business.
