I've deleted all the entries that did not get any votes and posted the names and number of votes received and the jury comments in the description field of all the photos. The photos will be on display in the PFRE Photographer of The Month flickr group through the end of March. I've asked Steve for some comments on his winning photo. Thanks for everyones participation this was an outstanding bunch of images!

Steve's comments are as follows:

I am thrilled and honored that such a talented group of real estate photographers appreciate this photo. There were several outstanding images to compete with, which makes this win even more humbling. Thank you.

This kitchen is beautiful and has some unique challenges, which is why I entered it. Every interior photographer knows the challenge of lighting up a ceiling like this one; avoiding harsh shadows from the beams, and avoiding color cast with all those yellows.

For this image, I used a Canon 7D with the Canon 10-22mm, and three Canon 580EX Speedlights. I took one picture with three flashes ( two stops under) and another at 3 stops over (no flash) - to capture the natural light. Then I manually blended the appropriate areas using masking. A lot of time was spent in camera raw adjusting for targeted white balance.

I thought the remarks by some of the judges were very interesting, and informative. Thank you everyone. Truly honored.
