Here is what Nathan had to say about his image:

This property had these funky tall, narrow north-facing windows on the side of the bedroom which created a nice soft diffused light that made everything pop against the dark wall. As soon as I walked into the room, I saw the contrast of colors and textures like the headboard, the accent pillow, and I knew this was an image I wanted to capture regardless of the shot list.

I shot this as a single exposure with an EOS R and a 50mm lens at f/11 (a much smaller aperture than I usually take detail shots). I added a Profoto B1 strobe at a really low setting, bounced off the far wall and ceiling (which were thankfully white) to add just a touch of soft light to fill in the shadows.
