Congratulations Aaron Kraft – May PFRE Photographer of the Month

Published: 23/05/2017
By: larry

Congratulations to Aaron Kraft of Jackson, Wyoming who the jury has voted PFRE Photographer of the Month for May. This is Aaron's third win. He won in August 2016 and October 2016.

Here are all the entries that the jurors awarded points to this month:

  1. Aaron Kraft
  2. Garey Gomez
  3. Stefano Pedroni
  4. Matt Rosendahl
  5. Alasdair McIntosh
  6. Matthew Stallone
  7. Michael Lefebvre
  8. Kery Bern
  9. Daniel Solomon

Aaron's comments are as follows:

Thank you to all of the judges who took the time to vote in this contest and thanks to Larry, as always, for giving our community a platform to show our work. I am very appreciative to be voted the winner of this month's contest.

This image was kind of an extra shot, but one I envisioned from the moment I first walked through the home. I just had to hope that the clouds wouldn't obscure the Tetons at sunset as they often do this time of year. The opened double doors aligned perfectly with the fire pit and the Tetons so I pushed the dining table in the foreground, staged it with the homeowner's dishes, some of the food in the fridge and what remained of the props that we brought. I placed one strobe outside to light the patio chairs and one strobe, on fairly high power with a diffused beauty dish, camera right to light the foreground. I did some minor compositing with a few ambient layers on top.

  1. It's not fair. Aaron gets really awesome properties to photograph.

Nice one Aaron! When California raises taxes next year to 110% of earnings, I'm moving to WY.

  2. Congrats Aaron! Your work is always very inspiring to me. It's nice to have awesome subject matter, but capturing the essence of the space, as you always do, is the real talent. Keep it up!
