As Jason, a long time competitor in this contest points out, the entries are stronger and stronger each month.
Jason was shooting all day today but took time out of his schedule to write the following comments:
Wow, thank you! Every month the entries get stronger and stronger, so I'm honored to win this month. I photographed this incredible curvilinear home, designed by architect Will Bruder, for a client that specializes in architecturally unique real estate here in Phoenix. I made this photo with only the available light, which was balanced just right at sunset, before shooting the rest of the home during twilight. Since nearly every surface in the home was wood, glass, or polished concrete, I mounted a circular polarizer and adjusted it to help reduce glare, and used a graduated neutral density filter to darken the bottom quarter of the frame, which was reflecting mostly sky. The exposure was 1 second at f/9, ISO 100, with the 24mm tilt/shift lens, shifted up to further highlight the curved wood ceiling.
Thanks Jason, a great image! Also thanks to all the jurors for their participation. Be sure to check out the comments in the flickr contest group.
