Ian in Florida asked:
How do I get my website to show up on the first page of google results? Does anyone enter keywords into the metadata of their photos in Lightroom in order to increase their visability to search engines?
I think the priority goal is to do what's required so that when someone googles "your town real estate photographer" or some derivative of that string your business website shows up as close to the top of the results as possible.
The number one thing you can do is to add or claim your business on Google. For detail instructions on how to do this see this google tutorial. This assures that when someone does a google search for real estate photographers in "your town" you are close to the top. This approach is not as effective in cities that already have hoards of real estate photographers with a google business entries but it still may get you on the first page of results.
Sure there are lots of SEO tinkering (like HTML metadata and photo metadata and using keywords) you can do that will affect your business site's ranking but I'm skeptical that it is anywhere near as productive as claiming or creating your business entry on google.
