We Are Ready To Choose A PFRE Photographer Of The Year

Published: 03/12/2012
By: larry

OK we now have 11 awesome images chosen as PFRE photos of the month from 2012 so we are now all set to choose a PFRE photo/photographer of the year for 2012.

I have all the contestant images for the photographer of the the year loaded in the PFRE Photographer of the month flickr group so everyone feel free to join that group and make comments and give input to the jury. I'm sure they need all the help they can get to decide which of these is the best image.

Here are the rules:

  1. Only the jurors that do not have images in the competition will be voting. Those jurors are listed on the contest page in black text. The names in the list in red text are the entrants in the 2012 photographer of the year contest.
  2. As in the monthly voting,  jurors will each have 10 votes and can cast those votes for up to 3 entries.
  3. Jurors will be voting from now to around the 15th of this month. We will target announcing a photographer of the year in 2 weeks on Dec 17.

Oh, yea, if you are viewing this on a mobile device that doesn't do Flash, you can see the contestant images along the left side-bar. Just touch one of the images and a HTML slide show will come up and let you navigate through the 11 images in the photographer of the year image. You can also see the images on the Best-of-the-best page.

  1. @Iran- Excellent point - my instructions to the jurors did not explicitly specify one way or the other. However, since in the yearly competition the jurors know who the photographers are, have a link to their web site and are familiar with their work, I expect it will be some of both. You are probably referring to the fact that most of the monthly photos had a theme that restrained the image to a certain room.

I could ask the jurors to give consideration to the photographers portfolio since the the themes constrained the monthly images.
