Update On The Photographer Of The Month Process

Published: 22/03/2011
By: larry

I've updated the official Photographer of the month page to reflect the on going process of photo submission, voting and choosing a monthly PFRE photographer of the month after this first month. There's also also a link to this page on the right-hand side-bar just above the list of past real estate photographers of the month.

The general way the voting process will work in the future is as follows:

  1. Contestants submit photos: the 1st through the 7th of each month.
  2. Voting will be done at the PFRE Real Estate Photographer of The Month flickr group.
  3. Winner announced on the first of each month. That is, March's winner will be announced on April 1 etc.

Right now we are well on our way to choosing a PFRE photographer of the month for March. There are 10 more days to vote. So if you haven't voted yet take time to join the PFRE Real Estate Photographer of The Month flickr group and vote for your favorite twilight shot. You vote by leaving any comment on any two photos in the group.

There were a few people that submitted photos for the March voting that don't understand UTC/GMT time. The fact is, we have photographers all over the world participating in this competition so I've made all the deadlines UTC/GMT time. That's the time zone that Brian MacLochlainn, the founder of this competition, is in (Dublin, Ireland). It is fitting that we should run this on Brian's time. To help out I've put a UTC/GMT 24 hour clock on the official Photographer of the month page.

Please look over the official Photographer of the month page and let me know if there is anything that's not perfectly clear or that I left out. Also, let me know if you have some favorite monthly themes.
