Our Real Estate Photography Forum - Learn from the Community

Published: 06/03/2013

PFREflickrGroupSome PFRE readers may not realize that there are several large forums associated with this blog.

For starters, the PFRE flickr forum is one of the most powerful forms of photographic education that I've ever witnessed.

PFRE Real Estate Photography Forum

There are several ways to benefit from this free educational forum. You can:

  1. Just look at the photos posted there each day. By just looking and not even joining the forum you can learn what good real estate photography looks like because many of the best real estate photographers in the world that actively participate, post photos and participate in the discussions in this forum.
  2. Join the forum and comment on the photos or ask questions of the people that post photos.
  3. Post you own photos and get feedback from others. Don't be overly sensitive. Expect people to be straight forward and tell you what you are doing wrong.
  4. Participate in the discussions. The photo pool and the discussions are essentially independent. Anyone can participate in either or both.

Over the years (the forum has been operational since May of 2007) there have been many people that told me that participation in the PFRE flickr forum played a significant part of their building a successful real estate photography business. I attribute this to the willingness of so many of the PFRE flickr forum members to help everyone.

All the links to PFRE blog related forums are listed down on the right-hand side-bar under the title "PFRE Flickr Links". There are several forums but the most popular and the largest is the world wide PFRE forum.

The other place to learn and grow from the community is our very own PFRE Community Forum. Log in and join the conversation!

  1. I "saw the light" when I installed the latest Flickr app on my iPhone. It makes it so easy. I'm starting to like the PFRE group better than Facebook because the information and images are more relevant to me and the people that are active within the group have a greater understanding and appreciation for what we do. Thanks, Larry!

  2. I bought my first DSLR in 2009 and started shooting real estate. Shortly after I found this blog which led to the Flickr group. I can truthfully say that the Flickr group has been like an open classroom and I have learned so much there that it is incredible! It has been 4 years from knowing NOTHING to being booked two weeks out with a second photographer. I cannot say enough about the wonderful people and their willingness to share their knowledge on the Flickr group. Being featured by Larry twice also boosted me! Thanks Larry!

  3. Although I'm not shooting as much now, when I was shooting for other agents I found the Flickr group to be extremely helpful in me getting started as a real estate photographer. I can't say enough about the Flickr community. The knowledge and willingness to help was instrumental in me getting started in the business.
