If you are a Real Estate Photographer that uses Lightroom or Aperture what you need is an little application that interfaces with these two applications that will fix lens barrel distortion and converging verticals and doesn't cost a bundle. PTlens has been close to filling this need for a long time. But the latest version does it all:
What this means is that if you are a beginning real estate photographer you can now get by very nicely with either Lightroom 2.0 and PTlens ( $299 +$15) or Aperture and PTlens ($199 + $15).
Warning: As of this writing, PTlens only works with Lightroom 2.0 (this is the version that is currently in Beta) because it uses the new, improved plug-in interface in Lightroom 2.0. It does work with Aperture 2.1 (the currently shipping version).
Thanks to PFRE reader Terry Roden for pointing out that Tom Niemann recently released this new version. This is an important development for real estate photographers!
After trying out the Lightroom 2.0 plug-in, the Aperture plug-in and the stand-alone version of PTlens I find that I much prefer PTlens to the Photoshop CS3 Distort>Lens Correction filter and to DxO.
