Luxury Real Estate Listing Trainer Says: Don't Skimp On Photography

I got an e-mail promotion today from Jack Cotton, luxury marketing expert, author and speaker. He says:

When it comes to the adage “a picture’s worth a thousand words,” Luxury Home Experts change it to “a picture can be worth a million words.”

When presenting a luxury listing, you want more than one picture. You also want the right photos, shot in the right way, by the right person: an experienced pro who knows how to photograph high-end properties. With more and more people starting their search on the internet, your photos must be flawless.

I would submit that if you are a luxury home listing agent and don't already know this you've been living under a rock! But I'm glad to see a real estate luxury marketing expert standing up and promoting this concept. This is great, Jack is saying more than you need a professional photographer, he's saying you need the BEST professional photographer. I think Jack's blog article is something you want to promote to your agent customers! Good job Jack!

  1. I think that you have about 10 to 15 seconds to make an impression on a potential buyer. All their future viewing of your property will be through the "lens" that was formed in that first impression. All photos must be perfect and especiallly the lead one where the 15 second impression is made. You may have to make several visits to a luxuy home to get each feature and element of the property in the best light. I think I take pretty good photos, then I see what the professional did and am blown away. I do the "emergency" or risky shots and leave the rest to those who know what they are doing. It is especially difficult to shoot interiors properly. Get a professional!
