July POTM and VOTM Contests Now Open + Rule Updates

The July PFRE Photographer of the Month and Videographer of the Month contests are now open. The theme this month for still photos is master ensuite and the June video entries have been rolled into the July contest. As most of you already know, we have made some changes to the way entries are submitted and viewed, as well as some of the contest rules and timelines.

Rule Updates

  • The POTM and VOTM will now be open for submissions from the 1st of each month to the 20th.
  • Jurors will vote between the 21st and 28th.
  • Winners will be announced on the 29th.
  • Submissions are now open for comment throughout the entire contest. Until recently, comments were not allowed until the contest was closed but we want to encourage as much engagement and learning as possible.
  • NOTE: Entrants are not allowed to comment on their own photo until after the voting is complete to ensure that they remain anonymous.

How to Submit an Entry

  1. Go to the PFRE home page.
  2. Roll over the contest tab at the top of the page.
  3. Click on "View/Submit".
  4. Click "Submit Contest Entry".
  5. Choose Photographer of the Month or Videographer of the Month from the dropdown menu.
  6. Fill out your information.
  7. Submit your entry.

How to View Entries

  • Go to the PFRE home page.
  • Roll over the contest tab at the top of the page.
  • Click "View/Submit".
  • Click the active contest filter buttons to choose between All, Photographer of the Month, or Videographer of the Month.
  • Click the arrows to navigate through submissions.
  • Click on individual submissions to bring up the commenting page.

How to View Archives

  • Go to the PFRE home page.
  • Roll over the CONTEST tab at the top of the page.
  • Click on archive.
  • Click the filter buttons to choose between Contests, Periods, or Status.
  • NOTE: All past contest entries from 2020, 2019, and 2018 will eventually be displayed with the photographer's name. Only the monthly winner will be displayed from 2017 and earlier.
