An Update on a Great Success Story!

Published: 12/08/2017
By: larry

Earlier this year, I posted this success story about a young photographer named Christian Knutti from Youngstown, OH, who started Real Estate photography when he was a senior in high school.

Just recently I got an update from Christian so I thought I'd pass it along:

Hi Larry, I just wanted to let you know that things are going better than ever for me. Shortly after you wrote that story on me a few months ago, I had a major turning point in my photography business. I attended a workshop in Las Vegas that you told me about put on by Brandon Cooper and Tony Colangelo. I learned so much, including the things to look for to set up a good composition and how to light a room really quickly. Before the workshop, it felt like I was unsure and guessing a lot of the time at a shoot. But now, feel confident and don't take nearly as much time. I've been using this extra time to market my business. Even though my market has really slowed due to lack of inventory, I have gained about 20 new clients since the workshop.

I am now consistently shooting about 20 homes per week, more on busy weeks. I have been able to market my services since I am no longer backed up with editing, thanks to what I took from the workshop. Also, I've gained a relationship with a brokerage that has the most agents in my area. The executives of the company have been pushing my services, and I am getting new clients from them every couple days. July was my best month ever, double the revenue of last July - not bad considering I'm still at school!

Brandon and Tony's workshop has been fantastic for my business, so much so that I'm planning to attend the Ottawa workshop next month as well! I never would have known about the workshops if you'd not told me about them, so thanks again!

In addition I thought I'd throw in a couple of before and after images (click on the small image above) to show you what I've been up to.

Wow, what can I say? I love success stories like Christian's. They make doing this blog worthwhile!

  1. That's such great news to hear about Christian and at such an age to find something you're passionate about. I'll be going to the Ottawa workshop, also due to Larry's good work. Making the excuse to go to the workshop so I can visit Canada and the US; or is it the other way round... doesn't matter. I'm very excited to meet both Brandon and Tony and what their workshop has to offer. See you there.

  2. Hailing from the Youngstown area myself, I know what perseverence it must take to penetrate this market area. Congrats are in order, and keep up the great work!

  3. Congrats Christian, hard work and dedication pays off!

Tracy Boldery, Tony and I are looking forward to hosting you on your first trip to Canada! It's going to be a great weekend in Ottawa!

  4. Congratulations Christian, keep up the great work!

Definitely a continuing inspiration for other promising photographers out there, and a valuable incentive/reward for Larry with your great blog!

  5. Congrats and well done! Would love to hear some of your marketing techniques, I'm finally at a point where the skill-set and business infrastructure are dialed in, eager to grow the clientele base now. How do you go about marketing your business to secure new clients?
