  • Wonderful property, albeit I don’t see the purpose of having a model there. I shoot fashion and beauty and love working with my models but in this video, as nice as she is, she is a superfluous requisite.

  • Excellent video production. Too many redundant shots. I found personally that the music was annoying. I believe a compelling and effective video with this material could have been done in 3 minutes. Beyond a couple of walkthrough shots I believe that the model was overused. Again, great video production, however I personally would have made some tweaks. I enjoyed this style of real estate video.

  • I think Tri-Blend had another version of it called The Tiger House or something to that effect. When I saw it, I thought it was fun, so during the summer, I tried to incorporate some of the style into a few videos, very minimally, just to see the reaction. I guess Montana is sooooo not ready for even the mildest progressive changes to videos of homes. It went over like a lead brick, and I had to stick with very straightforward edits. I didn’t have any tigers up here to work with, so I tried Buffalos and Horses, and dogs, and finally kitty cats. The only thing the didn’t reject was a chocolate chip cookie batch rising in the oven time lapse. Livestock in the house is apparently a big no-no, even if it’s only virtual.

    But it was amusing to try it. πŸ™‚

I think this version does a much better job of marketing the property! @desmond & @Ron the girl in the video may be the listing agent:) This wouldn’t be the first time that happened!

  • I think its great. God I wish I could not only shoot like this (the skill set is really what I want to achieve) but have a client who would pay for such a production. I think the production values are superb, very Hollywood movie level, broadcast level. I took glee (probably only shows my small mindedness) in the fact that they too found shooting after night had fallen resulted in soft, unsharp footage from a drone. Looks like they managed to soften the “noise” which then enhances the softness but at least you don’t have all those active bugs jumping around.

    I do agree with others here that there was a bit of repetition of some shots. The time lapse night photography of flames on steroids did nothing for me, although that model did have a lovely bum. Sex sells and while she added nothing to the house and I presume is not considered a fixture or fitting that would come with the house, she did pose a lure to wealthy men at that time of life when a nicely formed female figure that leaves little to the imagination so that they stay on to see the last drop of video footage. Perhaps wondering if that elastic body suit would ever give way.

    But all in all, I thought is was an excellent example of what can be done and provides many techniques I will be working to add to my own videos. But I am also sure that there was a crew working on this video who can do things that the single photographer cannot such as having a pilot for the drone and a 2nd person operating the camera.

    And it should be remembered that the style of any photography, stills or video, should include consideration of the market said photos/video are being aimed at. The wealthy young who drive Carrera’s and wear the latest in fashion are going to be drawn by a very different look and feel than an old duffer who likes his comfy La-Z-Boy. A wealthy old couple will look for something different than a dot.commer. We do have to consider style to match our clients marketing. Hollywood has always been about glitter, bling and appearances rather than substance. Other markets are exactly the opposite. Obvious and should not even be mentioned, but it is also easy to forget in the rush to embrace new equipment and techniques with the realm of the possible taking precedence over what is appropriate.

  • I love the quality, but I have a tough time with the soundtrack when it comes to marketing purposes. The soundtrack would likely appeal to a small percentage of potential clients and in fact may actually turn off more than that. In addition, someone mentioned the repetitive shots… I think that with the repetitive music this all becomes overtly repetitive. Beautiful home though…

  • A very cool video — I wouldnt encourage 4 minute videos as a standard for a sales video. But this is a great skills reel for the creative team.

  • This video is great and though the use of the model without adding a story to it was strange. Though, like in every latin American countries, adding a hot girl ensures that you will watch the video all the way through.
    My only complaint that after all the nice stuff, like the great (time consuming) time-lapses, how could they use such a cheap drone for the night aerials. That could not have been more than a mavic. Phantom4Pro already would have produced a spectacular result but I would have expected them to use an Inspire 2 with and X7 camera. I guess, they just did not want to carry too much staff. As to respond to Peter Daprix, the drone footage can easily be accomplished with one operator and this entire movie could have been filmed by not more than 2 people. Only the time-lapses would slow down the production but even those were filmed in less than 20 min each.
    The edgy music was interesting though might not sit well with everyone. I think it worked. And looking at the girl was definitely enjoyable. πŸ™‚

  • Zoltan. I use a P4Pro and while I can only fly 30 minutes after sunset (my budgets don’t go to getting waivers), I have had a lot of problems with both soft resolution and noise in my video clips as I approach the end of the 30 minute period and loose the light, not to mention the reflections of the 3 statute mile strobes on the drone as I get close to things at dusk, and I do get close to things. I use a filter to cut down on the noise, but I can’t achieve the crisp resolution I get during daylight hours. I would love to know how you manage. And managing the flying (other than in a straight line) and controlling the camera movements at the same time especially when close to parts of the house, I find a real challenge. I would like another pair of arms and hands. And I have been flying for the last 5 years now so have a little experience but admit to being anything other than an accomplished flyer/videographer. So I would suggest that while it can be done with one person, and sure I have seen it, it is much more effectively done with two.

    I am noticing more and more production companies making RE video like Drone Cowboys with their:

Both are production teams with a number of members. Both that shoot all types of video as well as RE. So they bring a lot of skills to the effort that is tough for the lone RE shooter working by themselves. But are certainly a source of great ideas as is the one above that Larry posted.

    As for filming the property at night…this property had a lot of artificial light so with f/2.8 and 1/50th od a shutter speed at iso 800 or 1600 you would be able to expose to the highlights and get clean enough footage, much nicer than you could see in the Tri-Blend video.
    Flying after dark is only an issue if you want to fly up high. They are flying low and lose to the property (probably even over the private property) so i would not be overly concerned by FAA because of that. And the lights on the drone can be turned off, it is not possible to file effectively with the drone lights turned on.
    This video of ours of a similar house was filmed with the Phantom 4Pro after the 4min10sec mark and you can see what different footage we were able to get from this widely available drone.

  • Isn’t 50% of a media production audio? Seldom hear a voice over describing the property. Missing 50% guys.

  • Stunning. Perfect. Even the music (for the house). Wow. Something to aspire to for sure.

  • Why are real estate videos not keeping their verticles straight? That’s something that bothers me.
