Below is the result of the jury's voting. The list shows all contestants that got votes in order of the number of votes received:

  1. Aaron Kraft
  2. Michael Lefebvre
  3. Gary Kasl
  4. Jenn Verrier
  5. Brian Doherty

Here are Aaron's comments:

Real estate photographer of the year... wow! Honestly, this comes as quite the surprise given the amount of talent that this group attracts. Some days, I look through the portfolios of many of the contestants and past winners of this contest and think that I should probably just go back to my former profession of planting trees. The quality of work showcased here is stunning and it helps me to try and push my work to the next level. To be awarded PFRE Photographer of the Year is an honor and certainly a highlight of my career in shutter button clicking, so far. Thank you to all of the judges who spend their precious free time looking through all of the images, and to Larry for providing this platform to show my work.

  1. Congrats to Aaron! But also to Michael, Gary, Jenn and Brian. You all inspire us to reach higher, learn more skills and grow as an industry. Thanks also to Larry for all your dedication and daily creation of our Bible for Real Estate Photography. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone - may everyone be blessed with camera gear!

  2. Just checked out Aaron Kraft's web site. Beautiful work! Congrats. A very natural look.

Just for fun, what is your most typical set up for a typical shoot?

  3. Congratulations Aaron! Absolutely well-deserved. One of the things I love about your work is that, for me, you’ve achieved your own unique “signature” style. Most of the time, I know it’s yours just by the thumbnail. Cheers, and here’s hoping 2018 brings you even more success!

  4. Congratulations, and love the way you blend the natural elements in the photos. Well done.

In your statement above, one sentence is probably the quote of the year - if there was such a thing. "The quality of work showcased here is stunning and it helps me to try and push my work to the next level." That says it all and cuts to the core of the contest itself as each photographer seeks to develop and expand their craft. It is so important.
