Realtor Market Reports – A Powerful Way for Realtors to Connect with Clients

Charlie Dresen, a Realtor in Steamboat Springs, CO showed me his most recent Steamboat market report video last week.

Charlie said:

I’m finding I’m getting tons more views to the information than a written report and also adds a personal touch which allows people to get to know me.

As I told Charlie, this reminds me of the market reports that my wife and I did in the late 90s and early 2000s in Seattle’s market. Of course, back then we couldn’t deliver it via video but providing market data to potential clients was very popular. Explaining it on YouTube takes it to the next level and adds a very personal touch. This is a great way for Realtors to connect with potential buyers or sellers and look like the area expert!

Charlie is a very accomplished videographer so he produces his own video but I can imagine there are Realtors out there that would love to have you shoot one of these market reports for them or teach them how to do their own. Many Realtors could shoot their own video but most would need help editing the video.

    Although my particular market characteristics are FAR from Steamboat Springs (43% CASH buyers – Really!? HaHa, Not in my world.), the concept of filming real estate firms talking about their comparative metrics is actually a wonderful idea in terms of “face time” and attracting sellers and buyers.

  • You’re spot on Phil. Communicating quality information and being as transparant as possible has allowed me to just get in front of more people wanting sincere real estate information.

  • We have been producing weekly videos for our clients for about a year. That might sound like a lot, but they are all about 2 minutes in length and the open rate for our emails is about 35%. When we post them on FB, they are watched by about 1,000 for a good one – 500 or so for others. We do a market update once a month as part of this program.

    One of our favorites was the one we did right before the last episode of Game of Thrones (this season). It was viewed on FB by over 3,000 people.
