PFRE Reader Peter Brandt Creates Architectural Art

August 16th, 2011

Peter Brandt, a long time PFRE blog reader is interested in Architectural images as art.

Peter has been a commercial photographer for 45 years and has shot architecture in Miami, London, Las Vegas, and Montreal. He has shot fashion, advertising and even shot for Playboy magazine. In recent years his interests have moved to photographing the graphic designs in architecture and real estate.

Peter currently has an exhibition of his work called “Mirrored Architecture” that will be on display through August 31 at the Carnegie Hill branch of the New York Public Library in Manhattan (Carnegie Hill, 112 East 96th St). This exhibition is the cover story on Chronogram Magazine. In this video Peter talks about the image that was chosen for the cover of Chronogram Magazine this month.

Another of Peter’s projects is images of the restored TWA terminal at JFK airport after the New York Port Authority restored Eero Saarinen’s famous 1962 design. If you get a chance to go to the TWA at terminal #5 at JFK Peter’s photo has been blown up 8 ft tall and is part of a photo exhibit there.
