One of My Favorite Property Videos

December 13th, 2010

I know, there are some readers out there that think that Brett Clements pays me to promote his video and his company but he doesn’t. I’m just a student of great video and I admire the wonderfully creative work that Brett and his team turn out. I talk about it here on the blog because I think others will also find it useful to study what Brett and his team are doing.

The video called Q1 Penthouse 9 Hamilton Street is one of my favorites. It’s listed on Brett’s site as #2 in the top ten videos as voted by the real estate agents on the Australian Gold Coast so Brett’s customers like it too.

What I love about this short 2:31 video is that Brett has combined stunning images of this penthouse with the playful suggestion that this high-rise building looks like a rocket. The sound track makes me smile as it switches back and forth between NASA astronaut/ground-control dialog with a description of this penthouse property. At one point the camera shots reflect the astronaut dialog as the astronaut reports completion of a roll maneuver. This little video is elegant, engaging and playful all at the same time. I think it’s stunning piece of work.

Brett and his team use Canon 5D MkII and 7D bodies for shooting video.

  • Stunningly unwatched – 77 views on YouTube in almost a year!

Shows how much video without a distribution plan can be a waste.

    It is beautifully photographed.

  • Beautifully done.

  • Thats an awesome work. Very creative shot. Good job.

  • @Joe – I don’t think they use a youtube embedded video to display their videos in advertisements. They have a different video player on their website with a crisper display.

Another great video. I hope one of the vendor in our market start offering this type of service.

  • That is spectacular.

  • any idea of what Bret charge$ for this fine specimen ?

  • How about this for a contrasting style – which do you find more watchable???

  • The cheque is in the mail Larry. 🙂 Joe Zekas. You are so dead set right! I watch so much Gold Coast rubbish on YouTube – shot on an iphone – that pulls a million views. Maybe the guys with the FLIPS have got it right? Either way. Thanks for acknowledging the CREW here for their work. I ain’t zip without the team. I’m just old and wise and happen to have lucked upon the film business, which is one of the few where the older you get, the better you get. Or maybe you just make less mistakes because you’ve made ’em all.
