Menu A Blog and Podcast on Managing Your Digital Life

March 25th, 2009

If you are anything like me, 99% of my creative work in the last 10 years is bits spinning on hard drives. Once or twice a year when one of my drives fail a surge of adrenaline gets me more in touch with how important managing my digital live is. Not paying close attention to managing ones digital files before a disaster occurs can be disruptive to business and  live in general.

Scott Bourne and Andy Ihnatko recently launched a blog ( and podcast (debuting on Wed. April 1, 2009) that will focus completely on the subject of storage, backups and hard drives and keeping your bits save. The blog was launched on Feb 24 and already has a wealth of information. For example Scott suggests you not label CDs or DVDs, if you still use that media, since the top disk surface, where you do the labeling, is the most likely source of the media failure.

I’ve vowed to be better prepared for my next disaster so I’m going to be a regular follower of Scott and Andy’s podcast and blog.
