The Flood of Pre-Photokina Announcements Has Started

Photokina, the mammoth photo equipment show held every 2 years in Cologne, Germany is coming up September 23 through 28. So every company that makes anything to do with photography times many of their new product announcements so they can show them off at Photokina. If you were thinking of purchasing equipment it makes sense to hold on to you credit cards until after Photokina to see what’s new and when all the announced products will be available.

Here’s a few products of interest to real estate photographers that have already been announced in the past few weeks. Announcements are sure to continue in the coming weeks.

  1. Nikon D90 – Mid-class DSLR with ability to shot movie clips.
  2. Canon 50D Bigger, higher resolution LCD, plus new higher performance image processor.
  3. Tamron SP AF 10-24mm – Ultra wide-angle lens for Canon, Nikon and eventually Sony and Pentax.
  4. Pentax K200D – New entry level model with improvements over K100D.

Canon is expected to announce it’s next evolutionary stop to the 5D. Canon has posted a teaser image to “set the stage for” the announcement.

  • Sony may introduce it’s 25MP camera too. That’s just what we need for those 800×600 web images!

  • I am hoping and praying Fuji come up with another wonderful camera. The S5 is just the bees knees for RE photography and an S6 with a bigger sensor would be a magnet for my plastic
