Update On Tyra Pacheco!

August 16th, 2016

Tyra

Tyra Pacheco’s daughter Emma recently sent out the following update on Tyra’s condition. For those that don’t know Tyra see the June 17 post on Tyra’s accident:

It has been just over two months since Tyra’s terrible accident. After enduring countless operations and procedures, she is on the mend!

Tyra has begun to stand on her right leg for short periods of time with the help of her therapists. The next step is to start walking once she can put weight on her left leg (which is still weeks away). Hopefully she will get her neck brace off in a few weeks as well! Tyra is working on everyday routines such as bathing and getting dressed herself.

Tyra still has inabilities that prevent her from getting back to her normal self. She doesn’t have full mobility of her hands, she cannot properly write. She can’t operate a wheelchair on her own. She also can’t sit up for long periods of time, as her back starts to hurt and she is confined to a hospital bed most of the time.

We are hoping she’ll get past these difficulties and live a normal life again, perhaps even returning to her career as a photographer.

The most miraculous aspect of this entire situation is how positive Tyra has been, despite all she has been through. Tyra has remained optimistic about her recovery and her setbacks.

We would like to thank everyone who has been organizing and participating in fundraisers for Tyra. Her family appreciates it more than you’ll ever know.

You can donate to Tyra’s Support Fund here.
