PFREtour.com Moving Out of Beta Monday March 22

We’ve decided that PFREtour.com is ready to move out of the Beta testing mode so we will be launching it officially on Monday March 22. Alfie and Michael, the PFREtour developers, have been working hard to fix problems and add new features.

We want to formally thank the over 100 beta users for all their feedback and suggestions. I want to highlight just a couple PFREtour.com tours that are already being used market properties:

Since January 6 we have added the following features:

  1. Syndication to Trulia, Zillow, & Google base.
  2. Added music.
  3. Support for international tours ( 3 character State field).
  4. Custom google maps URL for properties that don’t have an address.
  5. Private branding option added (currently changes pfre link at bottom of the tour).
  6. Custom domain names available for any tour.
  7. Miscellaneous Slide show Improvements.
  8. Realtor.com (Picturepath) posting.
  9. Black background option.
  10. Added ability to display photo descriptions.

New PFREtour.com prices effective Monday March 22:
(current prices will remain the same until the PFREtour.com launch)

  1. 1 tour $10
  2. 10 tours $90
  3. 20 tours $160

Currently Planned PFREtour.com Feature Enhancements:

  1. Tour statistics for each tour.
  2. More music choices.
  3. A photographer portfolio page that will show all PFREtours by a photographer.
  4. An agent portfolio and past listings page showing all PFREtours for an agent.
  5. Allow PFREtours  to be embeddable.
  6. Allow tour creator to control slide transition time and display times.

We believe that we will have these six features added in a matter of weeks but aren’t going to commit to specific dates. If you’d like to give us input on prioritizing these features or give us input on new PFREtour.com features we’ve setup a google.com/moderator area for anyone to contribute input and or vote on everyone’s suggestions. We are committed to doing what users think is most important.

    This looks very similar to Tour Factory’s “Elegant Viewer.”

    Thank you Larry, Alfie and Michael, and all Beta testers for the great work. I believe this final product would be wonderful to use for both Real Estate Agents and Real Estate Photographers since it was created by/and for both sides. I couldn’t wait to use it for my next listing and/or photography job.

    Larry, is there an expiration date for 10 or 20 tours?

    This seems like a great product.

    Please excuse my lack of experience – I just purchased the Slide Show Pro not too long ago (Just starting to learn/use it) and was wondering what specific pluses the new software has that I would be missing with my existing Slide Show Pro.

    Is there available some kind of product comparison matrix available to show the feature difference?

    No, it looks alot better than what Tour Factory offers, its alot cleaner and more professional looking.

    The thumbnails on the Tourfactory slideshow look terrible. The whole flash presentation looks like it its been overstretched.

    I agree. This is MUCH better than Tour Factory. Much less cluttered looking, with a simple, clean line. I’ll give it a try soon. Thanks for developing this.

    I think what Sabrina’s question was: If you buy 10 or 20 tours and don’t use them right away, is there a time limit before which they must be used? i.e do unused tours expire?

    @Rich & Sabrina… sorry I misunderstood. The tours you buy are good indefinitely. No time limit to use them.

    Hi Jay,
    This is a really good question. I’ve promoted using Slideshow Pro from Lightroom for years and have done it for many years myself… the problem has always been the tours you can create are not as nice and as competitive as everyone would like. The following isn’t an exhaustive list, but these are generally the main features that PFREtour.com offers over and above Slideshow Pro tours that you host yourself:
    1-The major difference is the branding and information links around the edge of the tour… none of these are present on straight Slideshow Pro tours. To add these to Slideshow Pro tours you need to be a HTML wiz. I used the straight Slideshow Pro tours generated from Lightroom for years but never was able to create the Property info, Agent Info, maps and e-mail stuff that look as nice as the ones on PFREtour.com tours.
    2-Syndication: If you choose, PFREtours can be automatically sent to Zillow, Google Base and Trulia… this is free.
    3-PFREtour.com tours can be posted on Realtor.com for an extra charge.
    4-PFREtours.com tours can be viewed on the iPhone and on the iPad when it is available. This will become a much bigger issue if and when the iPad becomes widely used.
    5-There will be per tour traffic statistics on PFREtours… you could do this on tours you host but it would require a fair amount of work.
    6-There will be an agent portfolio page you can offer to agents that shows all their PFREtour.com tours
    7-There will be a photographer portfolio page showing all tours by a give photographer.

    Re. Tour Factory. Every tour I see of theirs in the Bay Area, the photos look out of focus, often very much so. While this is no doubt sometimes due to the photographer, I have the impression that there is something about the way Tour Factory processes the files that cause a deterioration of quality. This is especially evident in the full-screen views, but is still very much so in the normal view, which is larger than average. I think PFREtour is much better in this regard. Also, I do not particularly care for the interface of the TourFactory format.

    Happy Tuesday all.

    Over the last week i’ve purchased 2 white label tours and love them. I’ll be adding a third this afternoon. Being new to RE Photographt I find them are easy to set-up (which is good because i’m struggling with my work flow) and they look great. My question for you all is this. Are you finding that agents respond well to having a tour? It seems to me that a lot of agents are content by just posting pics to MLS or their web.

    Taking my thought process a bit further, are any of you using sites like zenfolio to host tours? if so, does the lack of a map, property info, agent info etc.. play a role? I have a Zenfolio site for my general photography work and I could post slideshows there all day for no fee (other than my $100 annual)

    Just looking at all of my options.
