PlanOmatic Tours: Optimized For The iPhone Or Desktop Browser
October 26th, 2009
I ran across PlanOmatic today. It’s one of the first tours I’ve seen that will recognize if it’s being browsed by an iPhone and adapt it’s display to the iPhone browser and screen size. This is an example (www.12thestrand.com ) of a PlanOmatic tour so you can see what it looks like in an ordinary browser. If you want to see it in iPhone format just hit the same URL with your iPhone. The iPhone version has some cool features like:
- This is a great way to leverage URLs on sign riders
- Call agent button with tap of the iPhone screen
- Google Maps shows location, provides directions
- Nicely designed for iPhone use
This is the way all tours will be soon!

Great posts Larry, and very good timing!
Congrads to the guys at planomatic. Gotta love the flip transitions!
The other day I was looking at swfobject’s documentation and serving up an mp4 encoded slideshow video might be a simple and effective way to deal with the whole no-flash on the iPhone issue:

Ah, just another tip, in Safari 4 >develop >user agent >mobile Safari
Ciao.
