End Of The Week News Items
March 20th, 2009
It seems like there have been a lot of news of interest to real estate photographers in the last few weeks:
- HDRsoft releases new Lightroom Export plugin: The new plugin allows the results of your Photomatix processing to be automatically re-imported back into Lightroom if you want. Or not, if you don’t want. Thanks HDRsoft!
- Box.net has added new features: For those of you that aren’t familiar with box.net, it’s a great way to deliver photos you your clients if you are not up to building a client area on your own site. Here’s a post I did on it a while back.
- DxO Optics Pro releases update: v5.3.3 adds RAW support for 2 new cameras (Nikon D3x and Sony Alpha A900) with an initial selection of lenses.
- Attempts at increasing dynamic range in-camera: I enjoyed Christian Bloch’s coverage of two new cameras announced with the beginnings of in-camera HDR. As Christian points out, even though these cameras do increase dynamic range, they technically don’t create HDR files. These cameras are significant in that they illustrate the direction that camera manufacturers are going. Within a few years we will see significant improvements in dynamic range.
