Jeremy Esland’s Discussion of Tufuse Pro Experiments

May 25th, 2008

I wanted to highlight the PFRE flicker discussion thread that Jeremy Esland started explaining his experiments with Tufuse Pro. If you’ve been using any of the Enfuse/Tufuse products I think you will find Jeremy’s experiments very useful.

Thanks Jeremy for describing your experiments with Tufuse Pro.

  • I’ve struggled with HDR shooting, and generally been frustrated by it. I loaded up the TuFuse demo and simply had a go using some of my prior HDR attempts. All in all TuFuse is crying out for an auto-align feature, but generally it delivers everything I was hoping to get from HDR - mainly the blown out window issue dealt with and not needing a ton of lights.

I’m going to be experimenting with this more I think. I like the natural look it gives.

The interface is “designed by engineers” (to be kind), but basically functional and simple to use too.

  • I’m with you Athol, TuFuse looks promising. I’m going to give it a shot myself. But I’m still going to shoot with lights, the more options the better. I shoot HDR, Strobes, and ambiant. Sometimes I’ll blend all three together to get the results I’m looking for.
