I have read that in the D3 noise is almost undetectable until you get up to about ISO 6400! Sounds too good to be true.

I recently switched from Nikon to Canon for 3 reasons. 1. Full frame 2. Canon's 24mm TS-E lens, and 3. Low image noise. If Nikon can provide me with a better solution than Canon I will gladly switch back but I really like Canon's 24mm TS-E lens and Nikon doesn't offer a wide angle Tilt Shift lens.

The new CMOS chip Nikon is using in the D3 wasn't made by Sony. From what I have read it's a Nikon-developed CMOS sensor. Nikon also uses it's own chip technology in the D2H and D2Hs according to dpreview.com. So this should be interesting. I have also read that in the D3 noise is almost undetectable until you get up to about ISO 6400! Sounds too good to be true.

You'd have to get the sigma 12-24mm to use on the D3 as the sigma 10-20mm isn't designed for full frame sensors.

Actually, why bother spending money on the new 14-24 lens when you can reuse an older wide-angle lens with the full-frame Nikon DSLR? Still, having a true 10-20mm w/the Sigma will be really sweet!

The D3 and the 14-24 will cost around $7,000 but sounds like something I need to have. Then again the Canon 5D and 14mm will only cost around $4,500 but I really like the Nikon stuff.

More goodies to spend money on! That 14-24 sounds like a great lens even paired with the new D300. The self-cleaning sensor sounds interesting also.
